Indigenous Culture Excursion

Hi everyone,

As part of our history unit, we are looking into indigenous culture. To help with out research, we went to Cranbourne Gardens.

Steve was out tour guide and he showed us around. We had a treasure hunt later in the day. We had a little play after.

We went to a place there was a water bottle, a rock and ochre paint. We made paint then we put it on our hand and there was a rock to put our hand on. You could paint your face but I did not.

We smelled lemon myrtle it smelled really nice.

We walked into this wood place and Steve showed us possum skin, spear, eel net made out of grass, a digger and a boomerang. We learned about language groups as well.

After we went to a really fun playground.

My poem

Hello,

We had to do a poem for our homework.

Mine is about a missing mouse. It goes like this.

Has anybody seen my mouse? I opened his box for half a minute,

Just to make sure he was really in it,

And while I was looking, he jumped outside!

I tried to catch him, I tried, I tried…..

I think he’s somewhere about the house.

Has anyone seen my mouse?

Uncle John, have you seen my mouse?

Just a small sort of mouse, a dear little brown one,

He came from to country, he wasn’t a town one,

So he’ll fell all lonely in a London street;

Why, what could he possibly find to eat?

He must be somewhere. I’ll ask Aunt Rose;

Have you seen a mouse with a woffelly nose?

He just got out….

My cyber safety game

Hello

This term we were focusing on cyber safety game so I made a scratch game about cyber safety.

It is all about cyber safety and answering questions. It was really hard coding and I had to restart because the texts would not come through.

Nursing home visit

Hello my name is Cath.

We visited the elderly people on 24^th of March. I was scared and excited at the same time.

It was sooo fun! We got to chat. Before we made me bags and put in a lie so we let them guess the lie that I put in my me bag. I talked to this elder person that was a principal of a girls school in Tasmania. Her name was Helen. Also there was another girl that I talked to and her name was Margret.

I think they were scared and excited to also thought it was going to be amazing maybe.

After we visited I was surprised how I did and communicated. I think they were tired.

Would you like to visit a elderly home? If not why?

All about perimeters

Over the last few days we have been learning about perimeter. We had to do a task and creat lots of shapes because it asked us questions to answer. It was fun and

I leant that you can have perimeter that adds up to an odd number. The rectangles have lots of different shapes but they add up to the same perimeter.

Do you know the perimeter of a square of 62cm each? Or a rectangle with a whole perimeter of 12cm?

An avatar is like a persons face , but it is more animated.

It is important to use a avatar because people know how you may look like but it is animated so they can’t use your real face so you can’t get in trouble. It is good too use a avatar instead of a picture, otherwise people may use it on the internet, so you will get blamed for something you didn’t do.

I made it this way because I like the hat but I don’t have a hat like that. I think I have earring like that but it is not that colour or shape. The hair is almost same to mine but my hair is not that point or thin and not that short.

If you could make a avatar what will you include?

Would you include a thing that you like but don’t have?
